Exquisite backlit photos
When the ZR20 detects a portrait with backlighting image, the Make-up Mode lightens the face to smooth the complexion. Landscape Effect applies vivid coloring to blue skies and green trees.
Even high-contrast scenes are reproduced beautifully with HDR (High Dynamic Range).
Five images are shot consecutively at different exposures, and pixels from the three images with the most appropriate brightness levels are combined into a single image at high speed. Overexposure and underexposure are eliminated, and a beautiful photo emerges.
Vibrant night scenes
Portrait with Night Scene produces beautiful shake-free and noise-free nighttime photos. The Make-up Mode reduces glossiness caused by the flash to give the face a natural skin tone.

When shooting a night scene at long distance without a tripod, the camera automatically merges burst-shooting images at high speed. It corrects shaking and reduces noise to capture the enchanting scene just the way you see it.

When the camera detects zoom shooting, which is especially prone to shaking, it automatically conducts high-speed merging of burst-shooting images. Blurring from shaking is significantly reduced, even in handheld zoom photography.

An original auto-shooting function performs sophisticated analysis, settings and processing simultaneously before a single image is produced. While you perform the simple operation of pressing the shutter button to photograph your subject, EXILIM starts by obtaining the necessary information for photo shooting. It configures the appropriate settings for the shooting conditions and follows up by conducting high-precision analysis of the captured image. It then conducts image processing to make the color and tone gradations as close as possible to the image retained in your memory. The new EXILIM features further improved processing capabilities, and the ability to provide you with even higher image quality.
