The New Microsoft Kin One Mobile Phone

Let us present the Microsoft Kin One – the first of the two Kin mobile phones. You have hardly seen a more original and at the same tome strange cell phone.

The Kin One has even more distinctive design. From the first sight the device does not resemble a phone. It has a square shape with rounded corners, and the front part is smaller than the back section. And moreover the Kin One is a slide phone.

The Kin One phone has a size of 3.25 inches tall by 2.5 inches wide by 0.75 inch deep. The weight of the One compiles 3.9 ounces. It is a compact and lightweight mobile phone. The Kin One is a phone you need to get used to. When you are talking it seems a bit strange to hold such a handset near your ear.

In order to get to the full QWERTY keyboard, you need to slide the phone open. The keyboard is not spacious enough, so it will be hard to use the phone for people with large thumbs. Nevertheless, the keys are raised above the phone’s surface.

The Kin One’s QVGA capacitive touch screen measures 2.6 inches. The screen is not the best as it is a bit cramped and not sharp enough with its QVGA resolution.

Social networking is one of the main features of The Kin One. So the Kin One phone is focused on young generation.

The voice features of the Kin One are the following: a proximity sensor, speakerphone, and conference calling.

The messaging services of the Kin One are presented with text and multimedia messaging and e-mailing with push delivery (supporting POP3 and IMAP accounts).

The high-end features of the Kin One are the following: 3G support, Wi-Fi, full HTML Web browser. In order to connect to other compatible devices you can use stereo Bluetooth or USB.
The Kin One’s media player has a fully integrated Zune HD interface. The player supports the most popular file formats.

The camera of the One is 5 megapixels with a flash and opportunity to record videos.

The internal memory of the Kin One provides 4 GB.

The battery life of the Kin One phone compiles up to 4.75 hours of talk time and up to 8.75 days of standby time after a full battery charge.
