The Brother MFC-7340 tears the competition apart with its superior performance and overall build quality. With a print speed of 20 pages per minute, the MFC-7340 is a tad slower than the DCP-7030 but produces fine results in the overall print quality. The MFC-7340 makes a great buy for office use since it has everything that the DCP-7030 has plus it also includes a fax.

A great design feature that most MFP manufacturers are including is the scanner lid that can be adjusted according to the thickness of the document or book that needs to be scanned. Button placement is good, though they lose a point on quality when compared to other MFDs. On the other hand, cartridge installation is a breeze.

The cartridge in itself includes a separate drum and toner reducing printing costs in the long run. The MFC-7340 does miserably in the grayscale quality test but surpasses all expectations in draft and normal print modes. In other words, it's definitely not what you should look out for if the majority of your prints contain graphics, but it's a great all-in-one printer for small offices.
