Entering an already crowded media player market is Onida’s latest NexS HD media player. This little box capable of Full HD output is priced at Rs.6,490, which makes it a competitor to the WD TV Live. It supports all popular HD video formats (nothing specific is mentioned on their site) and features networking capabilities as well. The player is available now in all major cities across India.
The Onida NexS comes with two USB 2.0 ports that support pen drives, as well as portable hard drives. The player also has Samba built-in making it easier to share the media files over your home network. The NexS only has wired connectivity but it should be possible to use a Wi-Fi dongle in one of the USB ports just like the WD TV Live.
While it supports 1080p, Onida haven’t mentioned which formats are supported by the player. We’ll know soon enough though once we do a full review of the NexS, so stay tuned.
