Materials balance lightness and durability

Developing VAIO X Series also meant developing new materials to be used in it. One of these is a hybrid carbon material created by sand wiching a film layer with two carbon layers, enabling a reduction in weight while maintaining strength. The lightweight aluminium plate in the palm rest is only 0.6 mm thick, contributing to both the durability and thinness of VAIO X Series.

Redesigned from the inside out

To achieve its extreme thinness, VAIO X Series was redesigned on the inside, including slimmer connectors and card slot, thinner cables, and a low-profile single-sided motherboard.
